Alysha Barbour, MAc, LAc. is an Acupuncturist and Chinese Medicine Practitioner dedicated to providing holistic health care. She is licensed by the Oregon Medical Board and board-certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She is a graduate of National University of Natural Medicine’s Classical Chinese Medicine School. In addition to her Master’s in Acupuncture, Alysha completed extensive study and clinical training in Chinese herbalism. She has also pursued post-graduate work to earn her Certificate of Advanced Studies in Classical Chinese Medicine.
Alysha’sĀ undergraduate work focused onĀ pre-medical studies with an emphasis in human physiology and plant botany. Her in-depth knowledge of the body, from both Western and Eastern perspectives, allows her to give patients new ways of understanding their conditions.
In 2010, Alysha began a multiple-year residency with two renowned doctors from China at Portland’s Golden Needle Acupuncture Clinic in addition to opening a private practice. During this time, she gained further training in women’s health as well as sports medicine techniques. She opened an office in St Helens in 2016, and moved her practice there entirely in 2017.
A yoga practitioner and teacher for over twenty years, Alysha brings a background of breath work, movement, and awareness training to her clinical practice. When individuals are interested, she provides therapeutic yoga, breath work, and qigong exercises tailored to their specific health needs.
Alysha is known for her warm presence, clear communication, and empathetic connection with patients. She creates a safe and supportive environment for individuals as they navigate different health challenges in their lives. Alysha’s specialties include women’s health, digestive disorders, and the treatment of acute and chronic pain.
When not in the clinic, Alysha enjoys spending time in her garden, hiking and backpacking, and relaxing with family and friends.
